Matthew Booth, Director, and co-founder of Booth Africa is an ex professional footballer who heads the ‘sports-arm’ of the organization by providing coaching clinics to schools, clubs, and communities.

Matthew has had a professional football career lasting nearly 20 years which has seen him play for a number of professional teams in South Africa and Russia. He has represented his country at both the Olympics and the World Cup. During his professional football days, he quickly realized that football development is virtually non-existent in South Africa and that the formation of the Trust would be able to play a meaningful role in rectifying this to some degree.

Matthew graduated with a BA degree in Politics. He is a SuperSport TV Football Pundit, Artificial Grass SA Director, DC Panel Member for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) and the SA Institute for Drug Free Sports (SAIDS), and the co-founder and trustee of the SA Football Legends (NPC). He is passionate about uplifting communities through Sports and Education. At Booth Africa, Matthew is responsible for sports programmes implementation and sports infrastructure roll out.
